Lewisburg-Austin Darrell Cornwell, 77, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, doing and being involved with what he loved at his business, Factory Tire Outlet in Ronceverte.
Darrell was born May 6, 1942, in Frankford, the son of the late James and Zula Morgan Cornwell.
Darrell along with his wife were owners and operators of Factory Tire Outlet in Ronceverte. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge and the Clear Creek Gun and Rod Club. Darrell loved sports which he participated in during his youth and carried on in his adulthood by coaching Little League Baseball. He loved everybody and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Darrell loved and enjoyed his annual hunting trips to Colorado and was awaiting his license to come in for the 2020 season. Part of his cremains will be distributed on his favorite hunting grounds in Colorado.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; his daughter, Tina; sisters, Beulah Whitt, Reva Ramsey, Judy Woodruff and Margie Cornwell; and brothers, William “Bud” Cornwell and Estel Cornwell.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Long Cornwell; daughter, Amanda James and husband Van; grandchildren, Hayley Cornwell and Landry and Guy James; sister, Betty Testerman and husband Bobby; brothers, Doran Cornwell and Ronald Cornwell and wife Sally; members of the Long family; the mother of Jeff and Tina, Nonnie Sampson; and his beloved hunting buddies and Loyal Factory Tire Outlet employees.
A celebration of the life of Darrell Cornwell will be held on Friday February 21, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
In honor of Darrell and his generosity and kindness towards others, the family wishes that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Greenbrier Childrens Home, 9579 Seneca Trail South, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
