Concord University is extending an invitation to employers to attend the Eighth Annual Career Fair on Thursday, Mar. 20.
The fair will be held in the Ballroom of the Jerry and Jean Beasley Student Center on the Athens campus from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Students in the Recreation and Tourism Management program are responsible for planning and hosting the event, where graduates and undergraduates will be searching for successful and rewarding internships and careers.
This is a learning opportunity as well; employers are encouraged to use this day to promote careers in their field – even if a company has no immediate openings, this day will help students understand what academic foundations are useful for careers in a particular industry.
“Concord University is dedicated to helping our students prepare to find rewarding careers after graduation. We also encourage students to seek internships, part-time or summer employment that will enhance their learning experience and help them to develop useful workplace skills,” explained Tammy Monk, director of Career/Advancement Services.
The event is free of charge. Because this event is designed to encourage dialogue between employers and students, the students have been asked to arrive in business-casual attire. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
