WOW! We just had a great weekend at the Army National Guard Dual Team Tournament. There were 28 teams representing four different states. We finished in fifth place. The four teams that finished ahead of us are all ranked in the top five of their states (Ohio, Kentucky and two from West Virginia). We were the top team from our Region. It was a grind! But the reason we do it is because you must ‘challenge yourself’ and “welcome competition.”
I feel that you should not only welcome stiff competition, you should go out and look for it. It will make you dig deeper, reach out and stretch your athletic talent. Competition is someone setting a standard for you, a standard that should be constantly rising in quality. Most people don’t compete enough; they give up too easily. They level off and let their own personal standards dominate them. Then they never find out how good they can be. The pattern should be Competition – Mistakes – Corrections – Improvement – Success – Tougher Competition – More Mistakes – More Corrections – More Improvements – More Success! That is why, I believe, we will succeed!
Trivia: From 1969 to 2012 there were 12 Regional Champions in that time period. How many Regional Champions have there been from 2012 to 2019?
Upcoming events and highlights:

Miluk humor: I remember when I asked my wife to marry me. I said “Honey, I love you and I want to share all your worries and troubles.” She said, “I don’t have any worries or troubles.” I said, “I know, but we’re not married yet!” I warned her… Boy, am I in trouble! Ha!
Trivia answer: The Greenbrier East Wrestling team had 12 Regional Champions in 43 years. In the past 8 years we have had 22 Regional Championships. We are going in the right direction.
