Carnegie Hall’s May/June Art Exhibits are set to open Friday, May 3, at 5 p.m. In conjunction with downtown Lewisburg’s First Fridays the artists are holding receptions in two galleries – the Old Stone Room and Board Room.
This month’s exhibits feature works by the Greenbrier Artists and Edith McKinley. The Auditorium Lobby Gallery will be closed for renovations during May and June.
“The Secret Edith” by Edith McKinley will be featured in Carnegie’s Board Room Gallery. Edith lives in Lewisburg, and was the founder and owner of Edith’s Health Food and Specialty Store for over 30 years. According to the artist, she is “fascinated with light and color, water and sky.” She adds that “different times of day, especially late afternoon and sunset, changes the mood of her paintings.”
Greenbrier Artists’ Annual Exhibit will be featured in The Old Stone Room Gallery. The show includes all types of work created by artists who work in watercolors, pastels, oils, acrylics, fabric, and mixed media. Greenbrier Artists is a nonprofit group dedicated to the education and development of art within the community. The group meets on Thursdays at Carnegie Hall, and new members are welcome.
Carnegie Hall May/April exhibits are on display May 3 through June 28, 2019. They are free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All the work is for sale and proceeds benefit both the artists and Carnegie Hall.
