A photography exhibit at the Visitors Center follows a five-year journey through the seasons of the Greenbrier River Trail. More than 40 photos show the river in its many moods and colors, and the flowers growing there.
Photographer Megan Raddant says, “I came here because of the river. There was a place my father loved to fish, and most of these pictures were taken there. Looking closely at flowers and water has been very healing for me for over a decade. Watching the interplay of water, light, and wind connects us to the source of creation. It feels like prayer to me. Nature has a special quality here, a grace, and is full of healing flowers and plants. Everything we need is around us, here in nature. Grandmothers cherished the sweetness in their flower-painted teacups. Sharing this beauty and trying to preserve it have become my mission.”
Raddant is certified as a practitioner by the international Flower Essence Society. She will be doing a book on flower essences of the native plants of this region.
