The Lewisburg Parks Commission received a $1,000 donation from Women of Color for Change members, Anessa Sherrod and Daneen Fair (center), at City Hall, to begin the funding for several new playground play-park component purchases at Dorie Miller Park. The park has been undergoing various upgrades over the course of the past year, and with fair weather ahead this spring, a new shelter and parking lot will be added. The playground components will be the most expensive addition to the park, which the commission proposes to have installed by the summer of 2020. It is hoped these funds are the first of many play-park donations to freshen and renew Dorie Miller Park for the benefit of the youth of Lewisburg to enjoy.
