Carnegie Hall releases calendar of events

Feb. 24, 2019: West Virginia Symphony Orchestra – Mainstage Performance on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. Carnegie Hall presents a delightful afternoon performance by the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Lawrence Loh. The repertoire will include Rossini’s Italian in Algiers Overture, Ginastera’s Harp Concerto, and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4. Tickets are $30/$35.

Mar. 8, 2019: Kaia Kater – Mainstage Performance on Friday, Mar. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Born of African-Caribbean descent in Québec, Kaia’s old-time banjo skills, jazz-fueled vocals, and deft song craft have garnered acclaim from NPR, CBC, Rolling Stone, BBC Music, and No Depression. Tickets are $20/$25..

Mar. 16, 2019: 3rd Annual Carnegie Hall Gala on Saturday, Mar. 16, at The Greenbrier Resort. Carnegie Hall fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes an evening of live music, dancing, dinner, drinks, and a silent auction. Tickets are $135 (full tables available through sponsorship.)  The Greenbrier is providing complimentary casino access and a room rate of $149 for all Gala guests. Please call 844-837-2466 to reserve your room at this special rate.

Old Stone Room Gallery – Features art by Phyllis Crickenberger. Free admission.

Board Room Gallery – “A Profound Lack of Focus” by David J. Pittenger. Free admission.

Lobby Gallery – Features art by Eddie “Spagetti” Maier. Free admission.

Permanent Exhibits:

West Virginia Music Hall of Fame Exhibit – “The Art of Music in West Virginia” Carnegie Hall is the permanent home of the WVMHOF Exhibit. The exhibit features a rotating selection of memorabilia, artwork, photographs, show posters, stage clothes, instruments, and recordings from artists who have made their mark on the musical landscape of West Virginia. Past inductees into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame include Kathy Mattea, Bill Withers, and Hazel Dickens, and Tim O’Brien. Free admission.

Arts from the Ashes: The History of Carnegie hall – The exhibit features memorabilia, photographs, artifacts and more of Carnegie Hall since its construction in 1901.  Free admission.
