Frankford-Joseph Patrick “Pat” O’Brien, 72, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at his home.

Born Aug. 24, 1946, at Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Joseph Cornelius and Ruby Belle Dowdy O’Brien.

Pat was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Elks Club, Nursery and Landscaping Club and Ducks Unlimited. He was a licensed Landscape Architect and Real Estate Agent. Pat was the owner of Pat’s Nursery and Landscaping. He had retired from Westvaco as an Assistant Bleacherman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Laura “Penny” O’Brien; son, Joseph William O’Brien (Melissa) of Ronceverte; daughter, Lori O’Brien Hendershot (John) of Madison, CT; brother, Newt O’Brien (Pat) of Bend, OR; sisters, Gaye Morgan of Frankford and Patsy Honaker of Christiansburg, VA; grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Lindsay O’Brien, Landon, Hudson and Noah Patrick Hendershot; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held on Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Green Hill Cemetery, Union. There was no visitation.
