On Friday, Nov. 2, at 5:45 p.m., Tatyana Polenova, Ph.D. will give a talk entitled, “The Critical Role of Natural Sciences and Science Education in a Sustainable Society” in the Roland P. Sharp Alumni Center at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.
Members of the community are invited to attend, and her discussion of the importance of scientific endeavors and science education should be of great interest to people in our area that are involved in science education of all types. Dr. Polenova is a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware. Her research focuses on understanding structure, dynamics, and function of biomolecular assemblies, and her studies of AIDS virus protein assemblies have particular relevance to medicine. The Greenbrier Valley Chapter of Sigma Xi (a scientific research honor society) and its home institution, WVSOM, are cosponsors of the presentation.
