Interested in learning how to take great photos with your digital camera? New River Community and Technical College is offering basic digital photography classes in Beaver, Lewisburg and Summersville in October.
Students will learn about digital camera functions and composition and lighting to improve the quality of their photos.
The basic digital photography classes will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver on Oct. 1, 2 and 4; the Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg on Oct. 8, 9 and 11; and at the Nicholas County Campus in Summersville on Oct. 15, 16 and 18.
Mark Romano, owner of Images by Romano, will teach the classes. He has published 17 pictorial books, such as the acclaimed Brooks Run: We Mine Coal, and Heroes Among Us for the WV Veterans Legacy project. Romano served as photographer and videographer for the Josh Stewart movie, The Hunted, and his coal photo exhibit has been on display at Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia. He has received awards from Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of West Virginia for his work. Romano published History of Webster County High School – 1974 – 2015, and pictorials for Richwood County high school in West Virginia.
Pre-registration is required by Sept. 27 for the class in Beaver, by Oct. 3 for the class in Lewisburg, and Oct. 10 for the class in Summersville. The cost for the class is $75.
New River CTC’s Workforce Education Division provides community education classes and employable educational opportunities including noncredit courses, workforce development programs and customized training.
