Beckley’s defense makes a strong effort to hold the Spartans deep in home territory.

The Greenbrier East Spartans hosted their long time rivals, the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles of Beckley, at their home field on Friday, Sept. 1.
The game followed the Spartan’s win over the James Monroe Mavericks the week before. The Spartans were handed their first defeat of the season in this dramatic contest.
The score ended up at 34-2, and resulted in the Flying Eagles record being pushed up to 2-0, and the Spartans now stand at 1-1. The Spartan Varsity Team will host a non-conference home game against St. Albans on Friday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Good luck, Spartans!
