At the four-way stop on US 219 in downtown Ronceverte is a building which has been partially restored to show its history, and also currently serves as a hair salon, Hair Attractions.
The building will be open for tours and refreshments during the Ronceverte Heritage Festival on Sept. 8.
The shop was originally a drug store and has the name Bowers imprinted in the front of the building, along with the original drug store windows. The Thomas Edgar Memorial sits beside this historic building on Main Street.
A number of homes and Ronceverte businesses have been marked in the downtown area, and an amazing amount of Ronceverte history can be found in the Ronceverte Museum, which will be open throughout the one-day festival with Ronceverte historian, Doug Hylton, serving as host for the Ronceverte Heritage Commission.
Hosting at the Mane Attraction Beauty Salon will be co-owner and manager Tammy Dotson Rhodes of Gap Mills and Tiffani Jackson of White Sulphur Springs. The Ronceverte salon is associated with Hot Mess Hair and Nail Salon at the US219 north divide in Fairlea.
