Stop by the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center to enjoy an evening of art and music. September’s “Art in the Valley” display features a collaborative collection by local artists Jeanne Brenneman and Linda Vaughan. Jeanne, a well-known watercolorist and teacher; and Linda, an expert quilter and embroiderer, have teamed up to create a stunning show of “Fabric Art.” Come in to meet the artists and view their unique pieces. Featured in the “Art Alcove” will be the works of various artists representing the Alderson Artisans Gallery, a cooperative nonprofit community art gallery. Toe tapping tunes will be provided throughout the evening by Strum Sum Band. Members of the Alderson Quilters and Crafters Guild will also be in the center with raffle tickets for a handmade quilt. At WV Fine Artisans, Judith Bair, will demonstrate how she paints with oil bars – oil bars are color pigments and oils in a wax base and look like big crayons. They allow the artist to have the richness of oils with the freedom of pastels. Judith is from Monroe County, inspired by all things nature and is fascinating to watch.
