New River Community and Technical College is opening the Advanced Technology Center, Ghent, to the public on Wednesday, June 13 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. allowing them to try out the college’s technical offerings.
“Nationally, we’re seeing attention brought to the need for trade workers,” explained New River CTC Dean for Technical and Workforce programs Dr. Jerry Wallace. “The Advanced Technology Center houses programs that prepare students for work in our area, and with this event, the community can come in, meet our faculty and try our program offerings without having to register for classes.
The college’s electric distribution engineering technology (line service), CDL, welding and automotive technology programs are offered at the facility in Ghent.
This event is free and open to the public.
