On Thursday, June 7, at the Lewis Theatre, Trillium will hold open auditions/interviews for interested dancers age 14-18, from 4-5:30 p.m.
Trillium Performing Youth (TPY) is an advanced dance training program for teens that meets for two hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September through May. In the spring, TPY offers free performances to local senior living centers, dance festivals, and elementary schools, as well as hosting a showcase made up of professionally choreographed pieces as well as their own choreography.
Under the tutelage of TPY Artistic Director Carli Mareneck and WV Dance Company Member Hilary Jereza, teens work towards a greater commitment and higher level of performance though education, technique, and participation. They also get the opportunity to work with a couple of different guest choreographers and teaching professionals from around the country each season. With partial funding from the WV Division of Culture and History and the National Endowment for the Arts, the TPY program is easily affordable and scholarships are also available in addition.
To sign up for an interview timeslot or for more information, please contact Carli Mareneck at 304-536-3694 or the Trillium office at 304-645-3003.
