Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 hosts annual Lenten Fish Dinner
The final Lenten Fish dinner for 2018 will be hosted by the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus in the Parker Community Center at the back of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in downtown White Sulphur Springs Friday, Mar. 23 from 4:30-7 p.m. The menu consists of fried or baked tilapia, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, a variety of desserts, hard rolls, coffee, iced tea, or sodas. Proceeds from the dinner helps support youth community church council projects in Pocahontas, Greenbrier, Monroe, and eastern Fayette counties in West Virginia, as well as Alleghany and Bath counties in Virginia.
A Journey to the Cross to be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church
Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs invites the public to participate in a 20-minute guided tour of The Passion, titled, “A Journey to the Cross” on Wednesday and Thursday evening, Mar. 28 and 29, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. A guide will lead you through stations of the cross using scripture, music and visuals with sound representing each segment of the journey.
