Monroe County will conduct their annual Birth to Kindergarten Kiddie Fair Wednesday, Mar. 14 and Thursday, Mar. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days at the Family Life Center, the building located directly behind the Lindside United Methodist Church in Lindside.
Children age birth to age 4 will be given a variety of free screenings that may include developmental, hearing, vision, speech, and language. The primary purpose of the screening is to provide parents with information concerning their child’s development and to start the enrollment process for programs such as Early Head Start, Parents as Teachers, Head Start Three-K, Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten for any child not currently enrolled in a Pre-K program.
The Kiddie Fair starts the enrollment process for Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten for fall 2018.
Children must be 4 years old before July 1, 2018 to enroll in Pre-K-4 and children entering Kindergarten must be 5 before SEPTEMBER 1, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year.
There will also be an opportunity for fun and games. Parents will be given community information and there will be information about possible programs in which to enroll their child. Refreshments will also be available.
