Neola – Thelma Grace Mahon, 70, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Peyton Hospice House with her family by her side.
Grace was born July 17, 1947, in Williamson, the daughter of Rufus A. and Lillian M. Lester Sipple.
She was member of Neola Church of Christ; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Mahon; sisters, O’Neal Barnes and Erdene Steele; and brother Sid Sipple.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, JD Mahon; daughter, Anna Withrow (Bub) of Lewisburg; sons, Arnold Mahon (Melissa) of Beech Creek, and Edward Mahon (Haley) of Neola; sisters, Maxie Britt (Tommy) of Windsor, VA, Gisele Mullins (Michael) of Dandridge, TN, and Stacey Buckner (James) of Princeton; brothers, Buck Sipple (Barbara) of Corapeake, NC, David Sipple of Dandridge, TN, Robert Sipple (Frances) of Beech Creek, and Timmy Sipple (Shawn) of Logan; grandchildren, Shiley Lester (Wesley), Kalem Mahon and Kamryn Mabon Mahon; great-grandchildren, Mason and Grayson Lester; nephew, Erik Sipple (considered as a son); and numerous other special nieces and nephews.
The Mahon family received family and friends Monday evening, Jan. 22, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs.
On Tuesday evening, Jan. 23, a visitation was held at the Beech Creek Church of Christ in Beech Creek, where Evangelist Bruce Murphy spoke.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Beech Creek Church of Christ where Evangelists David Murphy and Roy Mahon officiated. Interment was in the Sipple Family Cemetery at Beech Creek.
