The Greenbrier Valley Chorale invites singers to audition for its spring concert. Auditions will take place at Carnegie Hall, 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 5-7 p.m.
There are openings for all voice parts – soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at Carnegie Hall beginning Jan. 23.
Auditions are brief and private, and no appointment is necessary. You do not have to be a trained singer, but some previous choral singing experience is required. Former members who have not sung with the group in two years or more should contact the director.
The Chorale has a reputation throughout West Virginia for the high caliber of its performances. In December, the 54-member ensemble presented its annual Christmas concert to an audience of more than 300 at Carnegie Hall.
Singers come from all over Greenbrier County and adjacent counties in West Virginia and Virginia. Chorale members range in age from advanced high school students to retirees. The group is directed by Barbara Wygal Lutz and accompanied by Teresa Bryant.
The spring concert will be performed at Carnegie Hall on Sunday afternoon, Apr. 29, and at the Historic Masonic Theater in Clifton Forge, VA, on Tuesday evening, May 1.
