The funds were raised by a 5K run/walk with the theme, “Build Your Park and Keep It Running,” on Saturday, Oct. 21, held on the grounds at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and was sponsored by the WVSOM Community Relations Committee and Student Government Association. Mercado-Ortiz, who also serves on the Park Commission, said WVSOM students are committed to help build a new shelter at the park on schedule for construction in the spring. According to public works director Roger Pence, “The follow-through efforts of WVSOM students in offering to help build the
