Winners of the “Build Your Park and Keep It Running” 5K run/walk held on Saturday, Oct. 21, on the grounds of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine are as follows, RIGHT to LEFT: First place runner, Alex Lim, a freshman at WVU Tech; Mark Van Buren, a local marathon enthusiast who ran a very close second place; and Jagger McNeely, 12, who attends Eastern Greenbrier Middle School, took third place. There were 25 runners/walkers, 50 volunteers, including VISTA volunteers and WVSOM students participating in the 5K event, and a total of $500 was raised, which was donated to the restoration project at Dorie Miller Park. Gift cards from Hill & Holler and The Wild Bean were distributed to the top three runners, with $50 from Hill & Holler to Lim, and $25 each to Van Buren and McNeely from The Wild Bean.
