For the past several years, the people of Monroe, Summers, Greenbrier, and Pocahontas Counties in West Virginia (along with several counties in Virginia) have been concerned with and fighting against a planned Corporate 42 in fracking gas lines with a blast radius (blasting zone) of over a half mile across that will be crossing their lands and waters.

This “for profit” pipeline would consume a wide swath of land and forests from landowners by use of eminent domain, a slap in the face to our civil rights that our friends and family continue fighting and dying to protect. These pipelines will endanger our rivers, streams, wells, and all forms of water supplies. All this and the locals that will lose so much will gain nothing from the running of these pipelines except trouble and heartache.

For the first time, 14 nonprofit groups and local citizens from both WV and VA have joined together for the purpose of raising monies to help offset various legal fees needed to help fight/stop this potentially damaging pipeline that poses a threat to our waters, lands, forests, farms, our civil rights, and our families. If it’s allowed to be built, this pipeline will destroy much, including the beauty of the Greenbrier River in Pence Springs, devastate Peters Mountain (WV and VA), and our Appalachian Trail.

On Oct. 7, at the Summers County 4-H Camp from 12 noon to 5 p.m. we will host a Day of Music with fun for the kids, food, and educational workshops concerning the pipeline. There will be many events throughout the day for you to attend. Please join us!
