The GEHS Golf Team played a 9-hole match against three other schools on the par 36 front 9 on the Cobb Course on Thursday, Sept. 14.

Woodrow Wilson finished first on a 3-player total of 118. Scores were Jackson Hill – 37 (Co-Medalist), Jarrett Childress – 40, Mary Denny – 41, Chase Childress – 41, Hunter Tolliver – 49, and Jacob Sheets – 57.

Greenbrier East was second with a total of 119. Scores were Gavin Ray – 37 (Co-Medalist), Colin Wiley – 41, Berkley Adwell – 41, and Norris Beard – 45.

Summers County was third with a total of 136. Scores were Ashton Bennett – 44, Jamison Hamm – 45, Nate Wykle – 47, Sam Wykle – 49, and David Lester – 60.

Nicholas County finished fourth with a total of 157. Scores were Jonathan Cook – 51, Blake Dawson – 53, Mike Radar – 53, Hunter Groves – 54, Cameron Anderson – 55, and Kobe Alderman – 56.

The Greenbrier East team will be preparing next week for the Regional Tournament on Sept. 26 in Charleston at Berry Hills. Eight total AAA teams will be there, with the best two teams for a three-man total out of four players, plus the two low medalists not on either team, going to the state tournament in Wheeling at Oglebay Park at the Speidel Course on Oct. 3 and 4.
