Save the date for our 5th annual Wild Game Cook-off on Oct. 7. A fundraiser for White Sulphur Springs Main Street, the Wild Game Cook-off celebrates our Appalachian culture with great food, live music, and a beer garden hosted by Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company.
We invite chefs, both professionally and at-home trained, to come compete with their best wild game recipes. Registration is $50 for restaurants and $25 for individuals/nonprofits. Guests of the cook-off are invited to come taste all of the entered recipes. Admission is $15 and includes samples (seconds are encouraged) of all of the recipes, refreshments, and two beer tickets for those of age. The food service portion of the afternoon is from 3-5 p.m. at Butler Hall at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in White Sulphur Springs. All proceeds go to White Sulphur Springs Main Street and our continued recovery and revitalization efforts.
We are working with the WSS Farmer’s Market to present our first ever Harvest Market in conjunction with the event. Vendors of all kinds are invited to come set up from 12 noon – 5 p.m. to sell their best local products. Also at Butler Hall at St. Thomas, the Harvest Market will open at noon and conclude at the end of the cook-off. Registration for vendors is $5.
Tickets go on sale on Monday, Sept. 25 and are available at Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company in Lewisburg and Barnwood Living in White Sulphur Springs.
We are still accepting registration for both participants of the cook-off and vendors at the marketplace. Please contact us at 304-661-3778 or wsswildgamecookoff@gmail.com to sign up. The registration deadline is Sept. 29.
