White Sulphur Springs – Rosanna Dobson, 92, formerly of Alderson, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at White Sulphur Springs Care Center.
Born July 7, 1925, at Cass, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Fannie Bell Myers Jackson.
Rosanna was a kitchen aide at The Greenbrier and was a domestic worker while living in New York. She was also a member of the former Shiloh Baptist Church in Alderson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Edward Jackson; sisters, Hattie C. Hopkins, Beatrice Elston, and Joanne Hayes; and brother, Promise Hewlett.
Survivors include; daughter, Rose Anna Evans of Queens, NY; son, John Jackson, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Porcha Hollanda of Queens, NY, Tiffany Evans of Queens, NY, Cassandra Grady of Brooklyn, NY, John H. Jackson, III of Manhattan, NY, and Alyse Tyki Jackson of Goose Creek, SC; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret La Goon of Rochester, NY and Damita Dulin of Homestead, PA; brothers, Godfrey Hewlett and Henry Hewlett both of Washington, DC, and Phillip Dulin of McKeesport, PA; niece, Mildred Lewis and nephew, Robert A. Hopkins, Jr.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Greg Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery in Alderson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
