Lewisburg resident, Jules Reuben Kessler will release his debut album, “Colorized Friction,” on Thursday, July 20, online at julesreubenkessler.bandcamp.com and will be celebrating its release at a free concert on Friday, July 21, at Hill and Holler from 8:30 – 11 p.m.
Kessler’s original music straddles and is informed by many genres and is at some points light hearted, and at others, deeply reflective. Along with Kessler’s original compositions he will perform a broad mix of his own renditions of indie music, old time tunes, jazz standards and more. Families and all ages are welcome.
Kessler is a Lewisburg based musician and dancer who has been involved in the local arts community since his childhood. He has been an active member of Trillium Performing Arts Collective as both a performer and choreographer. In addition, Jules has been seen in Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s productions of “Les Miserables: School Edition” and most recently, “Pippin.”
At Greenbrier East High School Kessler was also involved in the instrumental and vocal music departments culminating in serving as drum major and performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, after being selected into the All-National Honor Band as a percussionist. He is always excited to share his music with an audience whether it be in Budapest, Hungary, Nashville, TN, or in his hometown of Lewisburg.
