Meadow Garden recently received the highest rating possible from the federal government, being named a 5-star long-term care center.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created a Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, families, and caregivers to more easily compare long-term care centers to help identify areas about which they may want to ask questions.
The website, https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare, features a quality rating system that gives more than 15,000 centers nationwide a rating of between 1 and 5 stars. Facilities with 5 stars are considered to have much above average quality.
There is one overall rating for each nursing home, and then separate ratings for three sources of information: health inspections, staffing and quality measures (QMs). The three sources of information are what is used to obtain the overall star rating.
“Meadow Garden is so pleased to be a 5-star center. This validates the staff’s dedication to the residents and quality care,” Meadow Garden CEO Brenda Holster said. “We have always been proud of the care and compassion we provide, and this just reinforces the good things we do.
“I am so proud of the staff at Meadow Garden,” Holster continued. “They treat the residents as if they are their own family. They go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are well cared for and have what they need to have a positive experience at the center. They really are the most wonderful people I know. Congratulations to the staff at Meadow Garden for their 5-star excellence.”
Meadow Garden is a 60-bed short- and long-term care center in Rainelle. Meadow Garden has more than 80 employees whose goal is to help people feel stronger and healthier to enjoy the fullness of a physical, emotional and spiritual life.
