Mabel Grace Alderman Hardiman, 89, of Charleston and Alvon, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
Born Mar. 2, 1924, at Alvon, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell Summers Alderman and Jessie Elizabeth Hoylman Alderman.
Mrs. Hardman was a member of Alvon United Methodist Church and was a former Assistant Troop Leader of Cub Scouts and Brownie Troops.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Wade and Kathleen Alderman and three brothers, Kermit, Kenton and Mason Alderman.
She is survived by: her husband, Ralph Walter Hardiman; two children, Brenda Kees (Mike) of Raleigh, NC and William Lee Hardiman (Donna) of Belle; four grandchildren, Ginger Tennant, William Lee Hardiman, II, Brett Kees and Eamon Hardiman; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Tennant, Jacob Tennant and Sophia Tennant; two sisters, Olga Wade of Alvon and Dorothy Alderman of South Charleston; brother, Charles Dale Alderman of Florida and White Sulphur Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Nov. 17 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Rev. John Massey officiated.
Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
There was no formal visitation.
