On Thursday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity is inviting residents throughout Eastern West Virginia to the Grand Re-opening of its new ReStore. Stop in on Thursday, Friday or Saturday to enjoy refreshments and enter to win door prizes.
“If you are getting ready for Christmas and would like to get rid of that extra clutter around the house and in the garage, don’t throw it out. Donate it to the ReStore. We’d love to have it and it will help us build and repair more houses for low-income families in Greenbrier County.Local residents have already begun dropping off donations to the ReStore” said Lori Greene, executive director for Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity.
“This is an exciting time for Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity and we’d love for everyone in the community to consider joining us for our GrandRe-opening.
Donate, shop, or volunteer! Each of these efforts brings us that much closer to making sure everyone in Greenbrier County has a safe and affordable place to live,” said Greene.
The new ReStore is located at 1431 N. Jefferson Street, Lewisburg, and business hours will be expanded to Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are proudly owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, like Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity, and proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope. The mission of the ReStore is to provide additional funding to support the affiliate’s house-building goals, expand opportunities to serve a broader base of the low-income community by providing low-cost materials, and divert construction and household materials from landfills to protect the environment.
All materials and items in the store are donated by local businesses, contractors and individuals. Donations are tax-deductible and may be dropped off during regular business hours. The ReStore will also pick up donations in Greenbrier County that are too large to fit in a standard car. Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity is celebrating its 27th year in service to Eastern West Virginia providing safe, decent, affordable homes to hundreds of families. Over the past 27 years we have built over 150 new homes and repaired over 500 existing homes in Pendleton, Pocahontas and Greenbrier Counties. Habitat for Humanity partners with volunteers and low-income Partner Families to build or renovate houses that are then sold to the partner families at no profit, with no interest charged on the mortgage.
