Andy Cohen, Emmy Award-winning American television executive and author, will be the guest speaker in the third of a series of broadcast events sponsored by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success. The live event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. in Room 424, Warren Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus, and is free to all students, staff and faculty.
Cohen’s presentation will be rebroadcast on Monday, Nov. 28, at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista in Room 912 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend both events.
The event will be streamed live and hosted by Chapman University in Orange, CA. All viewers are invited to submit questions via Twitter and Facebook, which will be answered live during the broadcast.
Cohen is the host of Bravo network’s nightly live talk show “Watch What Happens: Live” and the author of the memoir, “Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture,” as well as the New York Times best-seller “The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year.” Cohen will be sharing advice for following passions to land a dream job and taking calculated risks to build a personal brand.
This is the third installment of the 2016-17 multi-speaker broadcast series sponsored by the Society. The Speaker Broadcast series, which will reach more than 520 college campuses each month during the academic year, is designed to support the society’s overall mission of Building Leaders Who Make a Better World.
Founded in 2001 to build a community of like-minded, success-oriented leaders, the National Society of Leadership and Success is the nation’s largest leadership honor society, representing more than 640,000 members nationwide. In addition to the interactive broadcasts with some of the nation’s best speakers, the Society hosts team meetings in which students set and hold each other accountable to achieving goals.
The newly formed DSLCC chapter boasts about 50 members, according to DSLCC College Success Coach Christopher Shiraki, advisor for the group.
