Interfaith Fellowship meeting
The Lewisburg Interfaith Fellowship, an inclusive spiritual community, will meet Saturday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. at their new location at the St. James Episcopal Church, lower level, off Court Street. The group meets to share their spiritual practices and experiences for a greater understanding and acceptance of each other, and to celebrate their diversity. This week’s presentation will be “Act Like You Believe It” presented by Joan C. Browning, a Freedom Rider, author, and renowned speaker, who will be talking about living up to what we say we believe.
Mount Vernon United Methodist Church
will have a Pie & Ice Cream Supper Saturday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. Mt. Vernon UMC is located between Fort Spring and Sinks Grove on Mt. Vernon Road. The menu will consist of pork barbecue, hot dogs, various side dishes, and several types of desserts including pie and ice cream. Proceeds will be used for church ministries.
New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene
A new West Virginia-based Southern gospel vocal group, Micah, will be in concert Sunday, Sept. 11, in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene, located at Dawkins Drive and Davis Stuart Road, Fairlea. An offering will be taken for the group. The church is located one-half mile south of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center just off Davis Stuart Road.
Community Pentecostal Holiness Church
on Brush Road in Lewisburg will have their Annual Homecoming Service Sunday, Sept. 11. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and Morning Worship will begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Eddie Wood from Dublin, VA, will be the guest speaker. There will be a covered dish meal following the service. Everette Defibaugh, Pastor and the congregation extend an invitation to everyone. There will be no night service.
Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church
will hold a Rummage Sale to benefit flood victims Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sale will include baby, children and adult shoes and clothes up to 3X, purses, bed linens, curtains and household items at $3 per grocery bag. Free to flood victims. Proceeds will be used to help a family of the church who lost their home in the flood. Church is located on Hokes Mill Road, about one half mile off US 219.
Celebrate Recovery at Rhema
If you struggle with a hurt habit or hang up or any similar controlling problem or issue and would like to sort through your issues with like others in a Christ-centered environment you are welcome to attend our weekly meeting. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step meeting that incorporates the 12 steps and the 8 Beatitudes in the Bible and scripture and prayer to assist people with the healing process. Unlike most secular programs the issues people present are varied and not necessarily the same problem or struggle, so no one is excluded. Our meetings are on Thursday nights: 6 to 6:30 p.m. is the meet and greet; 6:30 to 7:30 is the open meeting; and 7:30 to 8:30 is gender specific small groups. The meetings take place at the Rhema Christian Church on Davis Stuart Road in Fairlea. We hope you check us out as many of our participants have grown tremendously in their faith and healed from a lot of their past hurt and pain.
Griffith Creek Baptist Church
