The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association (VADA) made a donation of $75,000 to Neighbors Loving Neighbors, a relief fund set up to help those affected by the June flooding of Greenbrier County.
The annual VADA Family Convention was to be held at the Greenbrier Resort from June 26-29, when massive amounts of rain lead to devastating flooding in Greenbrier County.
VADA asked its convention sponsors and attendees to consider donating their registration fees and sponsorship dollars to Neighbors Loving Neighbors in lieu of a direct refund. The response was overwhelming, and through the generosity of convention sponsors and VADA members, $75,000 was raised to donate to the people of West Virginia.
“To know that we align ourselves with organizations who put people first, it really makes me proud to work with these groups,” said VADA President and CEO Donald L. Hall. “It really is a reflection on the selflessness of dealers – they are always looking out for people in their communities. This is just another example of that.”
Hall, along with VADA Chairman William Farrell (Berglund Automotive, Roanoke, VA), presented the donation to Jim Justice, Owner and CEO of The Greenbrier Resort, on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
