Amy Truesdale, an AmeriCorps member sponsored by High Rocks Educational Corporation, is joining Alderson Main Street (AMS) for the coming year. She has been warmly welcomed by AMS members and will be meeting with more as well as meeting members of the many other community organizations as she gets around the town.
Among her duties will be improving AMS’s volunteer/membership base; maintaining a schedule for visitor information at the Greenbrier River Interpretive Center (GRIC); developing exhibits and educational programs; coordinating a community calendar and a facebook page; working with the business community to encourage more customers and businesses; and many others.
Truesdale said, “Alderson is a beautiful and historic town and I am happy to be a part of its continued growth. I am very excited to take on these new projects.”
Truesdale comes to the job with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Malone University in Canton, Ohio and local experience with Carnegie Hall and the Greenbrier Housing Authority. She worked in the sign making industry before coming to the Greenbrier Valley.
Doris Kasley, AMS member who will be working directly with Truesdale, said, “We are very excited to have Amy working in the community to enhance AMS’s goal of economic development.”
Truesdale will have an office in the GRIC with soon to be established office hours. Please stop in to say hello and find out how you can work with her and AMS to improve Alderson.
