Susan Harkness regularly spends time in the cemetery next to Old Stone Church in Lewisburg cleaning headstones. On Tuesday, she was joined by her son Blair, visiting from Asheville, NC, with his twin daughters Madeline (kneeling) and Ashley, age 11. The four had already spent one hour, and expected to work another, on a large headstone. The stone names Julia Brant, who lived from March 8, 1859 until April 20, 1899. She lies buried with two daughters, Alzada, May 3, 1898 – May 2, 1899, and Elkanah, September 7, 1896 – October 7, 1896. (Mark Robinson photo)
