Fairlea-Carolyn Helvey Trainer, 63, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born Jan. 26, 1953, in Hollywood, WV, she was a daughter of Alice Lorene Dowdy Helvey and the late Virgil Thurmond Helvey.
She was a very active member of May Chapel United Methodist Church at Neola, and was considered a bible scholar. She worked 20 years at the former Andrew S. Rowan Home in Sweet Springs, WV, and worked for six years at Anthony Correctional Center before taking retirement.
Preceding her in death other than her father were: brother, Ronald Helvey; two sisters-in-law, Clarissa Trainer and Pattie Helvey: and several uncles and aunts.
Survivors other than her mother are: her husband, Ray F. Trainer Jr. at home; sisters, Norma Helvey of Hollywood, Rosemary Halcomb (Randy) of Chesapeake, VA and Kathy Helvey of Hollywood; brother, Tom Helvey of Hollywood; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Saturday, July 9, at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, White Sulphur Springs, where Rev. Ed Craft and Rev. Marva Smearman officiated. Burial was in the May Chapel Cemetery, Neola. Visitation was Friday evening, July 8, at the church.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Peyton Hospice House and May Chapel United Methodist Church.
