Historic downtown will Lewisburg celebrate First Fridays after Five on Friday, July 1st. Join the fun with live music, art events and more, all free to the public.
Spend some time relaxing at the City Greenspace for some live music by one of the area’s favorites, Jeanne Hoffman, also known as “Lewisburg’s Songbird.” Hoffman will be joined by veteran acoustic guitar player and vocalist, Jim Snyder, for an eclectic mix of traditional country, including songs by Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn, to Folk/Country songs by the Carter Family and John Prine.
The General Lewis Inn will be serving free tastes of their original cocktail “WV Hurricane” in remembrance of the Derecho. (301 East Washington Street, 645-2600)

Edith’s Store will be featuring “Pierre’s Pear Pairing.” For 30 years Pierre has been growing over 120 varieties of pears without chemicals on his orchard in Union, West Virginia and is the proprietor of West Virginia’s oldest hard cidery – “Outcider.” He will be offering three different styles of pear butter paired with assorted items from Edith’s specialty store. Stop by the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center to celebrate the arrival of July with art, music and fun! Our July “Art in the Valley” display will feature the exquisite oil paintings of local artist Romney Collins. Come in to meet her and enjoy her show entitled “West Virginia Landscapes – A Journey in Oils.” Her works are in private and public collections and are displayed in galleries throughout the east coast. Strum Sum Band will provide toe-tapping musical entertainment for the evening. Representatives from Alderson’s 4th of July Celebration will also be on hand selling Rubber Ducky tickets. (200 W.
