The “1882 Society” of Main Street Ronceverte announces the release of their fifth annual Christmas ornament with the 1810 Edgarton building. This special edition joins the collection of previous offered such as the C&O Depot, C&O coaling tower and Martin & Jones Hardware.

This beautiful historic home was built in 1810 along the Greenbrier River by Thomas Edgar, founder of St. Lawrence Ford, known today as the City of Ronceverte. The house, including the 1885 Victorian addition, is full of history and scenes from days gone by in Greenbrier County and currently serves as the Edgarton Inn Bed & Breakfast.

“We hope that current residence, previous residence and folks far and wide will help us celebrate our town along with the current developments underway by purchasing their own piece of Ronceverte history,” said Sally Baker, President of the Ronceverte Development Corporation and Chair of the Main Street Ronceverte Economic Restructuring Committee.

This year’s ornament was sponsored through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs.  Allen Clower, family member, Kathy King, current owner and operator of the Historic Edgarton Inn and Becky Meriwether local employee of Gateway Industries and Main Street supporter.

The Edgarton ornament along with other ornaments of the series are available for $15 at the Ronceverte Feed Store, Wisemans Floral, Morgan & Morgan Insurance, Tri County Produce, Factory Tire, Martin & Jones Hardware Store, the First National Bank and Greenbrier Cut Flowers.
