35th Lewisburg Home & Garden Tour
will be held Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Homes on the tour include two homes on E. Washington Street – Mt. Airy and DeHaven; the Vickerage on Foster Street, Hart-Echols on Echols Lane, Greystone on Seneca Trail and the Ronald Refsland Garden at the corner of Alderson Street and Highland Circle. Tickets are $20. Tour is sponsored by the Greenbrier Valley Garden Clubs.
Ice Cream Social, Yard Sale, Music Jam
On June 11, beginning at 4 p.m., the Renick Community Center will host an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social. The menu will include ice cream, desserts, hot dogs with homemade chili and slaw as well as homemade pork barbecue sandwiches. There will also be a huge Yard Sale and Music Jam Session. Bring your whole family, your musical instrument, a lawn chair and spend the evening at 217 Huff Street, just off of Rt. 219.
Baked Steak Dinner in Alderson
Alderson Community Center will hold a Baked Steak Dinner Sunday, June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The menu includes: baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry salad, homemade rolls, dessert and iced tea or coffee. Take out and pickup available. For home delivery, please call 304-661-0290 prior to June 12. All proceeds from the dinner will go to the upkeep and renovation of the Community Center.

Mountain Transit Authority meeting
The Mountain Transit Authority Board of Directors will hold its next regular meeting Wednesday, June 22. The meeting will begin with a special meeting at 4 p.m. for employee reviews; regular meeting will begin at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at the MTA garage/office facility on Broad Street in Summersville. The public is invited to attend.

Schwimmer exhibit at Visitors Center
Shoshanna Schwimmer’s FABRIC & MORE exhibit is on display at the Lewisburg Visitors Center throughout June. Inspired by nature and the joy of colors, Schwimmer uses everything from fabrics, ribbons and beads to feathers and costume jewelry, to satisfy her sense of beauty. Schwimmer’s work can be found at art shows and the GVT auction, and in private collections in the US and Canada. The Visitors Center is at 200 W Washington Street, 304-645-1000, open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m., and Sunday noon-5 p.m.

GC Circuit Riders meet at Shoney’s

The Greenbrier Valley Circuit Riders is a well-established Chapter that has been going strong and growing for the past 15 years.
