MacKinzie Smith, the daughter of Sandy and Lisa Carter of Renick, was among the Davis & Elkins students selected for membership into the Chi Beta Phi National Science Honorary who were recognized during the college’s annual Honors Convocation.
The Zeta Chapter of Chi Beta Phi was established at Davis & Elkins College in 1925 and was recognized as the outstanding chapter at the National Conference in 2014 and 2015. Chi beta Phi is an interdisciplinary scientific honorary for undergraduate students. As affiliate society of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) since 1935, the object of the organization is to promote interest in science and to give recognition to scholarly attainment of science.
