Friends for Life (FFL) sanctuary’s drive for gently-worn (or new) shoes will continue through June 17. Any type and size of footwear is accepted but must be clean and dry and in good shape: Good soles, no holes, and laces if needed. FFL will receive funds for the weight of the shoes by the sponsoring organization Funds2Orgs. F2O will distribute them to underdeveloped countries where they will be resold through microbusinesses. The businesses will enable their owners to better their lives and even to receive higher education.
Shoe Drop locations are at Frankford Veterinary Hospital, Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital in Lewisburg, H&R Farm Supply at Crawley, Tractor Supply in Fairlea, and 318 W. Washington Street in Lewisburg. If you can’t get out and/or have a large number of shoes, call FFL president Donna Hinkle for pick-up at 304-667-1387.
