Ronceverte-Wilda Weldon Williams, 74, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Hospital, Ronceverte, with loved ones by her side.
Wilda was born on July 27, 1941, in Ronceverte, to the late Charlie Strong and Julia Weldon. She will be remembered by her children, granddaughter and family members as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, master chef, out-going and full of life. She will be forever loved, missed and remembered with the warmest thoughts.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lewis Williams; by her father, Charlie Strong; mother, Julia Weldon; two sisters, Mary Weldon and Premelia Turner; and two brothers, Raymond Weldon and Willie Weldon.
She is survived by two beloved daughters, Dana Williams and Venita Williams and one granddaughter, Lanice Jackson, all of Atlanta, GA; sister, Louise Smith (Bob) of Ronceverte; two brothers, James Weldon of Charleston, WV and Charles Weldon (Blaine) of Lewisburg; her dearest friend, Elaine Daniels of Ronceverte; sister-in-law, Norma Freeman of Homestead, PA; as well as a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School, Ronceverte, and attended two years of college in Reston, VA and one year of Community College in Lewisburg. She retired from the General Lewis Inn in Lewisburg as a evening desk clerk. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Ronceverte and held the offices of Board of Trustees, Treasurer and Food Committee. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and gladly greeted by our Lord Jesus.
Home going service was held at Main Street United Methodist Church, 223 Main Street, Ronceverte, on May 21. The family received visitors and friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Ronceverte.
Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family will accept monetary donations in care of Venita Williams.
