National lumber company 84 Lumber is honoring wounded veterans at each of its locations.
The company has reserved a parking spot for veterans who were injured in combat. The spaces are been painted purple to symbolize the Purple Heart.
Bryan McManus is the manager of 84 Lumber in Lewisburg. He told media outlets that, although he’s never served, he still takes great pride in having a purple parking spot at his store. McManus said he’ll repaint the parking spot monthly.
“It means the world to us because you think about it, without them, where would we be,” McManus said. “So for this community, for 84 Lumber as a whole, has always tried to take care of veterans.”
Elmer Hibbs, Veterans of Foreign Wars state commander, issued a statement about the parking spots, stating the VFW appreciates 84 Lumber for recognizing wounded veterans and thanking them for their efforts.
