Lewisburg-Harry Moffett Knight, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his residence in Lewisburg.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelors of Animal Science degree. He was a lifelong farmer of Knightland Farm in Lewisburg; a charter member of the Richland Ruritan Club; a Farmers Home Administration county supervisor; board member of the Greenbrier Valley Soil Conservation District; member of the Benevolent Order of Elks (BOE) Lodge #1758; member of the Lewisburg Lions Club; and was a lifelong member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Woodsie Poage Knight; his father, Harry Winters Knight and brother-in-law, John P. Garnett.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Esther Louise Middaugh Knight; sister, Julia Poage Knight Garnett; sons and grandchildren, Harry M. Knight, II (Kathleen), granddaughter Kady Ann Knight; Thomas Irving Knight (Cindi), grandson Thomas Irving Knight, II; James W. Knight, grandson James Harold Guay; Robert L. Knight, granddaughter Kylee Morgan Knight, grandsons, Remington Cade Knight and Campbell Reese Knight; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
