Benefit Auction
A benefit auction will be held Friday, Apr. 15 at 6 p.m. at Ronceverte Firehouse, 722 Ronceverte Avenue. All items sold. Featuring a variety of items, services and baked goods for sale. Purchase dinner while bidding. Hot dog, cookie or chips and a drink for $5. All proceeds go to Brier Nursing Home Residents’ Activity Fund. Sponsored by Brier Support Group/Activity Board.
Williamsburg Thrift Shop
will have a special Men’s Clothing $1 Bag Sale Monday, Apr. 18, and Monday, Apr. 25, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Thrift Shop has long sleeve and short sleeve shirts, slacks, jeans, suits, sport jackets and shorts. The Thrift Shop is located in the old Williamsburg School. All other items are basically $1 and children’s clothes are 50 cents. Other days of operation are Fridays 5-7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Annual Ramp Dinner in Leivasy
Leivasy Peoples Place, Inc., on Rt. 20, Nicholas County, in Leivasy has scheduled their annual Ramp Dinner on Saturday, Apr. 16, from noon to 5 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children UNDER 12 and little ones eat free. Menu includes: fried ramps, fried potatoes, brown beans, ham, bacon, scrambled and pickled eggs, corn pone or corn bread, dessert and drink (sassafras tea also!). Also a 50-50 drawing. Artist’s Studio Tour meeting
The Greenbrier Valley Cultural Roundtable will host a meeting to discuss the possibility of an area-wide studio tour in the fall of 2017 on Wednesday, Apr. 20, at 5 p.m. in the Old Stone Room at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg. This one-hour meeting will be an opportunity for artists to share thoughts and ideas on what the tour would look like, as well as join the planning committee. A free meal of salad, pizza and dessert will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 21 at the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church.
Judicial Meet & Greet
will be held at Alderson Community Building Apr. 21 at 6 p.m. This event is a meet and greet with Q & A with judicial candidates. Family law judge, magistrates and circuit court candidates will be in attendance. All non partisan candidates will be at event. Event will be moderated by Karen Lobban. Parent Support Group Meeting
is scheduled for Sunday, Apr. 24, at 2 p.m. at the 863 Union Hall in White Sulphur Springs. The guest speaker will be Stephanie Ludle from the WV Parent Training Center. She will be discussing IEP and Transition Processing. Also, the parents will be expressing and discussing their concerns about school safety. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting.
GC Circuit Riders meet at Shoney’s
If you ride a motorcycle and would like to integrate your passion for riding with your passion for spreading the Word of God you might be interested in the Christian Motorcyclist Association. The Greenbrier Valley Circuit Riders is a well-established Chapter that has been going strong and growing for the past 15 years. We invite you to our monthly meetings at Shoney’s in Lewisburg the first Tuesday of every month at 7 o’clock. We typically discuss upcoming rides, evangelistic ministry opportunities and enjoy fun and fellowship with our members. Our annual fundraiser ride called Run for the Son is coming up the first Saturday in May (May 7), so stay posted for details. Derby Day Celebration
at the WV State Fairgrounds, May 7, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Center, Lewisburg. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group
meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fee to join.
