Local athlete Travis McClintic has announced he will kayak the Greenbrier River from Marlinton to Hinton for a Muscles for Miracles: 24-Hour Challenge for Hope. This year, he will kayak the approximately 100 mile trip to benefit the Duke University ALS Clinic for research in honor of Chally Erb’s Unlock the Cure. Erb, a well-known performer and athlete, was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in 2014 and now is focusing his boundless energy on finding a cure for the disease. McClintic and Muscles for Miracles will contribute 100 percent of donations raised through the solo kayak trip to Unlock the Cure. McClintic plans to begin his trip on Saturday, May 7.
More information can be found on Facebook under Muscles for Miracles and Unlock the Cure.
