Lewisburg-Martin “Bo” Dahmer. 86, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 5, 2016, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Bo, as he was lovingly called, was a devoted husband and father. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict as a military police escort until July 18, 1953. He continued his career as a diplomatic chauffeur for The Greenbrier Hotel and Resort, transporting many political leaders and celebrities for 57 years. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and gardening and has given many simple words of wisdom.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Rosana Honaker Dahmer. Bo and Mary met one another in April 1950 at the Caldwell Presbyterian Church and later married on Feb. 18, 1952. Bo is also survived by their children, Steve Martin Dahmer and wife, Martha, of Kissimmee, FL, and Linda Dahmer Boggs and husband, Phillip, of Lewisburg; brother, Chester Yates; and sister, Helen Dahmer Musser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Van Buren Dahmer and Mamie Harvey Yates Dahmer: and siblings, Lucille Dahmer Farren, Leonard Yates, Stella Blackhurst, and Thelma Dahmer Quick.
Services were held on Friday, Apr. 8, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastor Stuart Farley officiated. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg.
Friends called before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
