Ronceverte-Kayla Ann Dunbar, 25, passed away Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2016, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
Born May 21, 1990, at Ronceverte, Kayla was the daughter of Tammy Brooks and David R. Dunbar of Ronceverte.
Kayla loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting, but most of all she loved her son, Conner. She was a Nutritionist at The Seasons Assisted Living Facility in Lewisburg, a graduate of Ashworth University and attended the Liberty House of Praise.
Kayla was preceded in death by grandfathers, Fred Raymond Dunbar and Billy W. Brooks, Sr.
Surviving Kayla are: her 5 year old son, Conner Ray Rothgeb; companion and father of her son, Donnie “DJ” Rothgeb, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs; parents, David “Randy” and Tammy Brooks Dunbar of Ronceverte; sisters, Kristin Dunbar and companion, Damon Fugate and Kelsey Dunbar and companion, Joshua Johnson of Ronceverte; grandmothers, Doris Dunbar of Ronceverte and Betty Brooks of Ronceverte; and niece Baily Fugate of Williamsburg.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 11, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Pastors Shelly Glass and Gary Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Organ Cave.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Greg Sampson, Jessie Simms, Kevin Simms, Colton Glass, Ryan Weikle and Justin Weikle; honorary pallbearer will be Carson Glass.
