New River Community and Technical College is pleased to announce its newest Board of Governors members, John Barnes and Sandy Epling.
John Barnes, of Lewisburg, is former chairman of Bluefield State College Board of Governors and facilitated the creation of New River CTC in 2003. He is a retired vice president of ABB, Inc. Barnes also serves on the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He graduated from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Education.
Sandy Epling, of Lewisburg, has worked for State Farm Insurance since 1982 and has served the community in various roles, including as board member of Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, Carnegie Hall, and trustee of Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She is a graduate of Marshall University.
“Mr. Barnes and Ms. Epling add a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to our Board of Governors. We appreciate their service and commitment,” said New River CTC President Dr. L. Marshall Washington.
New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville), and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver/Beckley).
