GEHS Engineering fundraiser Saturday
Greenbrier East High School’s engineering department will hold a fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at When Pigs Fly Barbecue to raise money to send the students on a trip to the Udvar-Hazy Center, a part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of proceeds to the students, who will be on hand during the fundraiser. 3D Printer and drone demonstration included.
Parent Support Group meeting
is set for Sunday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at the 863 Union Hall, W. Main Street, White Sulphur Springs. The guest speaker will be an advocate from West Virginia Advocates in Charleston. All parents are welcome to attend the meeting to express and discuss concerns about their children’s education.

Dining with diabetes
The Greenbrier County WVU Extension Service will present Dining with Diabetes Cooking School Mar. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Greenbrier Committee on Aging in Rupert. This program is for diabetics and their caregivers and anyone who wants to learn more about diabetes. The class is free, but registration is required. New recipes, samples and working demonstrations are a part of each session, plus there will be an educational lesson by a certified health educator. Adventures in Learning at Shepherd’s Center
Shepherd’s Center of Greenbrier Valley will soon be starting the spring sessions of Adventures in Learning (AIL). Eastern Greenbrier AIL will be starting on Thursday, Mar. 3, going through Apr. 14. Classes will once again be held in the Lewisburg United Methodist Church in Lewisburg. Registration is open still to anyone wanting to attend classes. Western Greenbrier AIL will be starting a little later in the month on Tuesday, Mar. 29, going through May 3. Free card making class
On Saturday, Mar. 5, the Renick Community Center will host a free card making class. The class will start at 10 a.m. and will last approximately two hours. There is a $5 supply fee and pre-registration is appreciated. For questions or to register, call Lois at 304-497-3271.
Shooting Match & Pancake Dinner
The Williamsburg Ruritan Club will hold a Shooting Match and a Pancake Dinner at the Williamsburg Community Building Saturday, Mar. 5. Note that the time has been changed to 1 p.m. Match is 8 rounds 12 gauge guns only – full choke (.660 inch). Seven rounds at $2 per shot. Eighth round 50/50 at $5 per shot. You must compete in all initial 7 rounds to qualify for round 8. Cash prizes awarded. Also, a Pancake Dinner will be available from 4-6 p.m. (donations accepted). All at the Williamsburg Community Building. Sponsored by Williamsburg Ruritan Club. Proceeds benefit local community service projects.
Flying Falcons soup luncheon
The Williamsburg Flying Falcons will sponsor a soup luncheon on Sunday, Mar. 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building. The dinner will feature a variety of soups (chili, chicken noodle, vegetable beef, potato soup, broccoli cheddar and beef stew) and peanut butter or grilled cheese sandwich, dessert, drink. Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc. is a nonprofit organization assisting low income, transient, homeless and disadvantaged people of Greenbrier County since 2004.

After the long winter, get ready to feel like a kid again! The Greenbrier Valley Bicycle Club (GVBC) will hold a meeting Tuesday, Mar. 8, at 5:30 p.m., at the WVSOM Alumni Center. Come out, see old friends and make new ones! No experience necessary – just a desire to have fun and enjoy exploring wild and wonderful WV under your own power.
Benefit Corn Beef & Cabbage Dinner
Come celebrate a St. Patrick’s Day tradition of Corn Beef and Cabbage with a benefit dinner sponsored by the Local Modern Woodmen to benefit Williamsburg Food Pantry. The dinner will be held on Mar. 12 from 1-5 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Center in Williamsburg. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 years. The menu features our famous corn pone, corn beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, choice of rolls or corn pone, dessert and tea or coffee. GV Circuit Riders meet at Shoney’s
If you ride a motorcycle and would like to integrate your passion for riding with your passion for spreading the Word of God you might be interested in the Christian Motorcyclist Association. The Greenbrier Valley Circuit Riders is a well-established Chapter that has been going strong and growing for the past 15 years. We invite you to our monthly meetings at Shoney’s in Lewisburg the first Tuesday of every month at 7 o’clock. We typically discuss upcoming rides, evangelistic ministry opportunities and enjoy fun and fellowship with our members. Our annual fundraiser ride called Run for the Son is coming up the first Saturday in May (May 7), so stay posted for details. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group
meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fee to join.
