Carnegie Hall hosts two opening receptions in the Auditorium and Museum galleries from 5 to 8 p.m. In the Museum Gallery is the WV Woodturners exhibit, featuring a range of turned wood pieces including small and practical pens, bottle stoppers, tool handles, large vases and bowls. On display in the Auditorium Gallery is Terry Shutko’s exhibit entitled “Works in the Key of C(ubism).” Receptions are free and open to the public. (611 Church Street, 645-7917)

The Greenbrier County Visitors Center premieres their March “Art in the Valley” show featuring a beautiful display of quilts presented by the Alderson Quilters and Crafters Guild. Members of the guild will be on hand in the center to demonstrate and discuss the art of quilt making. Stop by to view these pieces of art created by local quilters and enjoy the music of Strum Sum Band throughout the evening. (200 W Washington Street, 645-1000)
At the Irish Pub Celtic musician Patrick O’Flaherty will play traditional Irish music from 4-8:30 p.m., and then at 9 p.m. local duo Rivertown Gypsies will take the stage with their soulful mix of original songs and old favorites. (109 East Washington Street, 645-7386)
